Don Giovanni

“In a way that neatly ties to, and supports, and celebrates, the BDSM choices surrounding this production and its aesthetic and function; the idea of having this warm, devoted and loving man encased in this hyper-sexual costume that points in the direction of the places where love, meets sex, meets violence… Is a part of what made this show so interesting and intelligent.”

Jake Stewart, PRAISE DIONYSUS! (Bombshell for Idiots)

Don Giovanni isn’t a ‘Dom,’ he’s a rapist.

And Leporello, his tortured yet submissive slave, is growing weary of aiding and abetting such a master.

With a BDSM play party as the backdrop to this iteration of the narrative, the Don takes advantage of the what is supposed to be a safe environment; his behaviour contrasting healthy communication, consent and pleasure with coercive, controlling and abusive behaviour.

This dark and intimate production explores the line between consensual sexual proclivities and abuse.
